Description:

FlexFLOW is a complete module for creating intelligent P&ID’s with attributed equipment, lines, valves & instruments. 

In-situ intelligence resides in attributed data nodes for process and mechanical equipment, as well as for process lines, valves and instrumentation. This data can be reported on as equipment lists, line lists, valve lists & instrument lists, extracted into attached standard databasefiles, or XML’d out.


FlexFLOW especially benefits fast-track projects with its 24-hour, self-learning curve; ease-of-use & intuitiveness; quick-start implementation requiring low or no IT resource; and profit-enhancing & project-friendly pricing. While standalone licenses are hardware-based, workgroup licenses are most often software-managed with the Network Licensing Option (NLO) supporting license check-in/check-out, redundant server, and WAN 24/7 implementations.

Common process & mechanical equipment types in several classes are available and are tagged at insertion time by equipment number and further attributed with operating parameters such as flow rates, temperatures & pressures -nozzles, tower trays, & bridle assemblies are additional process equipment details. Routines are provided for connecting equipment with new/existing major and minor process lines and for inserting valves, control stations and instrument assemblies – a large variety of instrument bubbles are provided, as well as additional line types for interconnecting equipment & instrumentation. Designs may be spec-driven by standard or modified PIP specs, or by custom specscreated with the companion no-charge FlexSPEC Generator. Additional annotation and symbology are provided for accurate transmittals of process information to plant layout & piping design.

 

Additional Features:

Equipment library includes: Towers (6), Separators (7), Drums/Tanks (10), Exchangers (25), Pumps (35), Compressors (3), Filters (10), and Trucks/Cranes (28). Pulp & Paper library includes over 80 special equipment symbols.

Also included for equipment are tower trays (14), bridle assemblies (16), instrument assemblies (5), and nozzles (6). Both Equipment and Pulp & Paper libraries are extensible.

Process lines: Included styles are major, minor, existing major, existing minor, utility major & minor, electrical, instrument, steam trace, pneumatic, software, hydraulic, and capillary, as well as special routines for drawing vendor limits, double-lines and 3 point lines. Automated controls break either existing lines or lines being drawn based on stylesor horizontal/vertical orientation. Additionally, lines may be numbered automatically or explicitly, and line tags can be customized to fit project or company standards.

Valves: Symbols for gate, ball, globe, butterfly, check, needle, plug, and control valves are included in two user-set sizes for both closed and open positions; most valve symbols can be aliased to substitute symbology from project or customer libraries. A large variety of actuator symbols are available, as well as special routines for building control stations. Valve editing functions include valve movement/replacement with line breaking for insertions and line healing for deletions or moves, as well as toggling valve flanges on/off, editing of valve tags, and auto/ask modes for creating valve tags.

Instrument bubbles: 8 auto-format bubble types are provided, as well as over 24 special bubble symbols; instrument numbers may be automatically generated or manually input with each insertion. Special instrument editing routines are included as well.

Extras: Additional piping symbols provided include blinds, reducers, laterals, strainers, insulation, and hoses. Drawingnotation symbology includes flow arrows, drawing continuation tags, and 35 ISA symbols. Users may further extend theselibraries using site-specific custom user blocks.
